Our summer harvest continued after the berries, this was our first batch of apples picked, easily about 300 or more. They aren't like the perfect sprayed store ones, but they're our very own (a few worms and all, haha). We finished the day with 25 quart jars canned of applesauce and 9 freezer bags for pies. There are still more not ripe until the fall.
Daddy had a few days off work so we had a little staycation. One day we went to Chicago to the Lincoln Park Zoo. It was a lot of walking, but it's still one of our favorite zoos. The carousel was definitely a big hit. Another day we went to the girls' favorite park to play as a family. Both days were topped off with some McDonalds.
