JULY

I was so happy that these girls ended up on the same team again this year. They ended up not having enough players for a 10U team, so Kaydence had to play on the 12U team with Brooklyn. They were both the smallest players, but they hung in there and really improved their skills while making some good friends. I hope they will want to do it again next year. It pushes them in a bit of uncomfortable ways, but we all know that is a good thing. We ended the season with a pool party at our house! 

This is what one third of our summer days has looked like! Momma tanning or reading while the kids swim. They are all little fishies, and for safety purposes, that makes me very happy. Even Parker and Scarlett can manage the confusing array of straps on girl swimsuits to get their own suits on. Everyone grabs their own towel out of the dryer (because that's where they are from the last time they swam), then dons their flip flops while grabbing their goggles and noseplugs on the way out of the house. They actually have trained well to putting it all back properly, getting dressed and making a pile by the laundry room of wet towels and swimsuits when we come in. Since that's the case, I take them out swimming just about any time they ask.

We had some changes. Brooklyn got glasses (she was thrilled for this pic, haha).

Parker got a haircut to look different from Scarlett, and it has fitted her very well.

Fourth of July is kind of becoming the "same old, same old," but I'm okay with that.

We had another successful broody hen! She ended up with 8 healthy chicks. She's very aggressive and protective. We love when they do it on their own, because it's so much less work on us. Chickens are actually really great mothers. We've tortured her and the chicks plenty of course by going in the coop and trapping them to hold. Aww!
