We did a family theme this year for the first time. James and I had never even dressed up for Halloween since being together. In typical "Yo Gabba Gabba" style, "we tried it, and now we like it!" Lol. We went trick-or-treating with some friends at a nursing home the weekend before. The day before Halloween we went to the church party, where we won the "cutest costume" prize.
On actual Halloween, it was raining, and we were tired. We opted to stay home and carve the pumpkins from our garden we hadn't gotten to yet. It was amazing how much simpler things are getting. I love that we're starting to get out more. The twins get to be more involved with everything because they "kind of" listen now. We could carve pumpkins with no one climbing on the table or grabbing a knife! We can be in a group of people and at least 75% of the time, all the children stay around us without being told. We're getting our family "back" and I couldn't be happier about that!
