THE NEW PUPPY

So why not add some more trouble to the mess, right?! We were going to the pet store just for a free activity for Brooklyn and came home with this little Miniature Pinscher! We weren't completely spontaneous since we had previously decided that we were going to get two Mini Pinschers (male and female), so I could breed them and make some money from home. So it seemed fate when we walked in and they had one pinscher for half-price and he was male (we wanted to get the male before the female so we wouldn't have problems with him establishing dominance over the female, hence, easier for breeding). We named him Apollo after the greek god...he's the god of music, poetry, etc...a more feminant of the greek gods, so we thought that fit our little puppy.

We decided on the Miniature Pinscher because smaller dogs are cheaper to maintain and create smaller messes. Smaller dogs most importantly leave less damage if they decide to bite a child (important since we're in the baby-making stage of our lives). Miniature pinschers are in the 'toy' catergory, but are considered the 'king of the toys' because they do get to be 8-10 pounds and are actually quite bright.

Apollo has done very well so far (well for a puppy of course). He must have known I was writing about him because he went and sat by the back door and whined for the first time to go outside and poop. I consider that very impressive for a just 3 month old puppy that we've only had for 6 days. He's very affectionate, good with small children, smart and so cute. Anyway, we've been very happy with the new addition to our family!
